End of Round Two
Child life brought by some toys for Kike. He got a huge coloring book, some crayons, and a play tool kit. He really likes the goggles!!!!!
Hi all! Giving the short version for an update today. Two rounds of chemotherapy in the bag. Kike also started an intra-spinal chemo a few weeks ago that seems to be working very well for the cancer in his spinal fluid. The tumor behind his eye has also shrunk significantly. He seems to be handling the chemo better than most. He has had a few mouth sores and has been pretty nauseous after each round. On of the drugs he is taking is the worst drug on the market as far as causing nausea so I guess that is to be expected. As I write this update it is 5am on day 9 in the hospital as he was admitted for neutropenic fever and the next day was diagnosed with giardiasis!! Have no idea how he got that and it has Tri-County public health scrambling for answers..... The good news is that he recovered from the Giardia quickly but the bad news is that it kept his white cells from coming back as quickly as they normally would. Am hoping today is the day we can leave so he can have a few days at home before having to be back here next Wednesday for another 4 day stay for chemo....
Would very much appreciate your prayers. 2 Samuel 10:12 seems to be very simple and fitting....
"Be of good courage, and let us be courageous for our people, and for the cities of our God. and may the LORD do what seems good to him." We do our part and God does his. Please uplift us in prayer as we continue to try to do our part.
