Checking out Loja
Lunch at Pollo Sandi. Funny how many things here are a knock off of American things. Take for example, this "almost Ronald Mc Donald". LOL At the hardware store they have powertools that are yellow and black like DeWalt but they say "Silz" (instead of Skill). Lots of stuff like that. In the picture is Manuel. Manuel has been an evangelist for over 30 years in the Jungle region of Ecuador. He does not get out of town much, and a while back in Quito, saw his first ever escalator! I sure wish we knew more Spanish to get to know him better. He is a phenomenal being who is not wasting any of God's gifts.
This photo is between the Pollo Sandi pics but I could not get it to move. :) This is a picture of a fountain in Loja that says "no washing cars, no throwing trash and no washing feet" in the fountain that is located in the center of a super busy round about.
Andy and Sandi! Andy is an evangelist, street preaching missionary originally from Ohio but who claims Ecuador as his home. He and Manuel Came with us as Andy is possibly interested in relocating to the area.
My lovely wife with the crazy statue. Will have to get a picture of her with Ronald Mc Donald when we get back to the States.
Yes, it truly is Pizza in a Cone! Yum.!!
I finally ate the odd parts in my soup. These chicken feet were almost to much though as they really looked a lot like baby hands.
Catamayo is a city about 30 miles from Loja to the west. The terrain was incredibly different as you can see the change in the picture below. It went from lush and green to looking like the western slope of the Rocky mountains near Grand Junction and Fruita. Wierd!
