Lets get to work!

Hernan had plans of fence and concrete columns for this week's project for the teams outside. There are two teams here this week. One team is a group of families from a large church in Boise, ID, and the other one is a group of middle school kids from Tulsa, OK. They are in Ecuador as part of their Spanish Immersion studies. The dynamics of the goups are very different but all great people!

Cutting rebar.

These two are tasked with bending the rectangular pieces that form the columns in the first picture. They learned super quick and did an excellent job! The gal on the right has a mom who owns a pharmacy!

Mud, mud mud! Was a good messy day of work ! Much rain led to much mud as they were digging trenches to divert water. To the right is the leader of the team. She spend 2 years out of the last several as a volunteer at Casa de Fe. Was great to meet her and see her love for the kids here. She is a lot like my wife in that she loves kids and is very patient. Am guessing she will be back down here sometime in the near future!
