Who takes care of the orphans?
Many thoughts every day as we are here about the fatherless and orphans. Casa de Fe employs many "tias" to take care of the kids, many people to prepare food, some to take care of the grounds and construction projects, as well as secretaries and and office staff. There must also be a Social Worker, a Psychologist, a Physical Therapist, a Teams Coordinator, a Donated Items Coordinator, a Sponsorship Coordinator, Executive Director, a Head of Discipline, English Teachers, Classroom Teachers, a Chaplain, and hundreds of volunteers each year to be able to function successfully.
-Without Tias and cooks these children have nobody to meet their physical needs.
-Without Grounds keepers, Construction help and office help everything ends up a mess.
-Without a Social Worker children cannot be placed into adoptive families.
-Without a Psychologist children cannot be placed into adoptive families, and children cannot be helped with the awful things in their past.
-Without a Physical Therapist those with special medical needs have a tough time gaining a higher quality of life.
-Without teachers there can be no school. Many of these kids are not even close to grade level when it comes to education and in Ecuador would not get a fair try at an education otherwise.
-Without a Sponsorship Coordinator the funds go away and eventually everything else.
-Withoiut a Donated Items Coordinator there are simply piles of items that are not able to do these children any good.
-Without a Chaplain there is no spiritual guidance for the children or the staff. It is easy to get off track in this place without constantly having at the forefront of our mind that these are God's children.
-Without a Head of Discipline there are no consequenses for negative behaviors as nobody else is fully equipped to administer discipline.
-Without a Teams Coordinator there are no teams. If there are no teams the big projects do not get done. There is no VBS for kids. There are less supporters at the folks who come down in teams support these kids because they were personally touched by them. Without teams there are no people who return to the US to spread the word about these kids in the jungle.
As Casa de Fe is missing several people to fill these positions, is it because God hasn't put enough people on this earth to fill the need? Is it the fault of the 330 million people in the US being to self-consumed to help where help is needed? Is it the fault of the people of Ecuador that there are over 3 million of them and yet help is needed here? Is it the fault of those here in Shell? A town of around 8000 can't do enough to he
